Welcome to Bogan Elementary School! This marks our
5th
year of service to our
community’s learners, and we’re so pleased to
share that once again, our school attained an
“Excellent” rating through the Ohio Department
of Education. As reflected on our
State Report Card, student scores on Achievement
Assessments in the areas of Reading, Math, and Science met
the established criteria for excellence. While we celebrate
this wonderful accomplishment, we know that we need to
continue to work together to meet the learning, social, and
emotional needs of all of our students.
To that end, we will continue to utilize the
Peacebuilders
program
that we introduced with the aid of grant funding last year.
Focusing on the development of constructive behavioral
assets, Peacebuilders
emphasizes
a safe, positive learning environment. We will continue to
present Peace Principles to our learners and meet as a
building to introduce these important concepts. We’re
confident that by implementing these research-based
principles in our school community, we’ll realize an
increase in positive, respectful behaviors.
Academically, we’re excited to introduce
Project
More, a program that helps
us track interventions and modify instruction so that we
can better attend to the needs of each student. In
addition, we received grant funding from the
Talawanda/Miami Partnership to enhance our primary
instructional resources with more fiction and non-fiction
titles.
We welcome two new staff members to Bogan this year. Sarah
Roche will be joining our second grade, and Kristin Burke
our fourth grade, respectively. In addition, Brent Johnson,
who served as our administrative intern last year, will be
our new Intervention Coordinator.
